First Expert Meeting to update the Guidance on the Global Monitoring Plan for POPs (EG-1)

Geneva, Switzerland, 12 to 14 April 2010

The First Meeting of the Expert Group to update the Guidance on the Global Monitoring Plan for POPs was held to discuss the implications of listing new POPs for the guidance on the GMP and agree on the approach, workplan and timetable to update the GMP Guidance document. The discussions took into consideration issues such as new substances to be monitored, sampling and analysis of new and candidate POPs in air, human milk and blood, as well as other media, specimen banking, etc. An approach to update the GMP Guidance document was agreed, along with a work-plan, timetable and potential contributions from experts.
