Pursuant to its work programme for 2026-2027 adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention in its decision SC-12/22, the Compliance Committee is to improve Parties’ implementation and compliance with their obligations under in the Convention in relation to:
- National focal points and official contact points (Article 9, paragraph 3, of the Convention and of official contact points pursuant to decision SC-2/16);
- National reporting (Article 15);
- National implementation plans (Article 7);
- National legislation (Articles 3, 5 and 6);
- Elimination or restriction of POPs (Article 3);
- Technical assistance and financial resources (Articles 12 and 13).
To support the Committee in fulfilling its mandate, Parties were invited to complete by 2 March 2026 a questionnaire aimed at collecting updated information on:
- Their implementation of the above-mentioned obligations
- Any challenges encountered.
In addition, entities with a mandate to support Parties with the implementation of the Stockholm Convention were invited to complete by 2 March 2026 a questionnaire aimed at:
- Gathering information on the activities undertaken by entities in support of Parties
- Collecting experience-based feedback from entities on the nature and type of challenges encountered by Parties as well as on any challenges faced by entities in supporting Parties.
The information collected through the questionnaires will support the Compliance Committee’s development of recommendations on how to improve implementation and compliance, for consideration by the Conference of Parties at its thirteenth meeting (19-30 April 2027).
