Guidance on BAT/BEP relevant to the chemicals listed in Annex A or B to the Convention
The work to update or develop new guidance on BAT/BEP relevant to the chemicals listed in Annex A or B to the Convention has been identified by the experts as a priority area of work within their workplan.
The following three guidance documents have been identified as a priority are being updated or newly developed with the support of the expert roster:
- Guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices for the production and use of UV-328 with specific exemptions under the Stockholm Convention
- Guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices for the production and use of short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) with specific exemptions under the Stockholm Convention
- Guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices relevant to the polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and Dechlorane Plus (DP) listed under the Stockholm Convention
Parties and observers are invited to submit comments by 16 September 2024 on the July/August 2024 versions of these guidance (see below) using the form for providing comments.

Draft updated guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices relevant to the polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and Dechlorane Plus (DP) listed under the Stockholm Convention
The March 2021 version of this guidance document which has been developed to guide Parties in their actions to prevent or reduce releases of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) from the uses/applications under the specific exemptions listed in the Convention, is currently being updated to include information on Dechlorane Plus.
