Overview: The expert meeting on Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP) under the Stockholm Convention is scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 November 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The aim of the meeting is to take stock of the status of work, discuss the intersessional processes in accordance with the workplan for review and update of the guidelines and guidance on BAT and BEP agreed to at the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties (decision SC-11/5 and document UNEP/POPS/COP.11/8, annex II), and to agree on further steps for finalizing the guidelines/guidance to be submitted to the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties. The expected outcomes of the meeting are an agreed set of revisions and detailed workplans for finalizing guidelines/guidance documents under development or under review and update as identified in the agreed workplan.
