The Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution and its Protocol on Persistent Organic Pollutants

The Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP), negotiated under the auspice of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), aims at limiting and, as far as possible, gradually reducing and preventing air pollution including long-range transboundary air pollution. The Secretariat cooperates, collaborates and exchanges information with UNECE on matters related to the Aarhus Protocol and releases of persistent organic pollutants.
