Seventh Toolkit and BAT and BEP Expert Meeting

The meeting was opened at 9 a.m. on Monday, 26 November 2012.

Highlights: The seventh meeting of the Toolkit expert group was held in Geneva, from 26 to 28 November 2012. The Toolkit experts have finalized the revision of the Toolkit for Identification and Quantification of Releases of Dioxins and Furans and Other Unintentional POPs, including completion of four major chapters addressing releases from chemicals and consumer goods production processes, waste disposal activities, miscellaneous sources, as well as hot spots and contaminated sites. The revised Toolkit will be presented at the sixth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention in an electronic, web-based version. The meeting also developed a workplan for the review and updating of the Guidelines on Best Available Techniques and Provisional Guidance on Best Environmental Practices.
