Regional Synergies Workshop - Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions

The Regional Synergies Workshop - Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions was held from 5 to 8 July 2011 in Dakar, Senegal.

The Regional Awareness-Raising Workshop on Enhancing Cooperation and Coordination for the Implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions will be held for the French-speaking African countries in Dakar, Senegal.

The workshop offered a holistic approach to the implementation of the three conventions. The emphasis was placed on identifying synergies and linkages at the national level as a way to foster the implementation of the conventions' requirements. In this regard, a wide range of issues were addressed among others: ways of mobilizing resources and developing/strengthening national legal/institutional frameworks.
