Training Workshops on PCBs

Within the framework of its capacity-building activities on PCBs, the Secretariat of the Stockholm Convention is organising regional workshops since 2009. These workshops are organized as joint training on PCBs and POPs wastes and aim at assisting developing countries and countries with economies in transition in implementing the POPs waste guidelines.

PEN on POPs Social

Officially launched at the 5th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention, POPs Social is the Social Networking Platform of the Stockholm Convention Clearing House Mechanism. POPs Social provides a platform for open debate and direct expert-to-expert exchange on issues related to the Stockholm Convention. Information can be shared on Events, Blogs, Documents and Forums.

To date, POPs Social has established over 30 groups comprised of more than 1,200 members. A specific group is available for discussions on PCBs by the PEN members. All members of the PEN can join these discussions. The PEN group on POPs Social is one of the first and most active groups established on POPs Social.

With the major mandate of the PEN being to increase information exchange on environmentally sound management of PCBs, POPs Social is an important tool for achieving this objective and facilitating inter- and intraregional knowledge exchange.

All members of the PEN are invited to join POPs Social: http://networking.pops.int/
