Registers of Specific Exemptions for chemicals listed in Annex A

Article 4 of the Convention provides for the establishment of a Register for the purpose of identifying the Parties that have specific exemptions listed in Annex A or Annex B.

List of registers for chemicals listed in Annex A

By decision SC-9/1 on Exemptions, adopted in May 2019, the Conference of the Parties noted, among other things, that as there were no longer any Parties registered for specific exemptions for lindane for use as a human-health pharmaceutical for the control of head lice and scabies as a second-line treatment, no new registrations may be made with respect to that chemical.

The table below incorporates the amendments adopted by decision SC-9/12 in relation to PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds.
